Innovation of a Neonatal Peritoneal Dialysis Catheter to Expand Dialysis Capabilities for Critically Ill Neonates in Low-Resource Settings
The lack of peritoneal dialysis (PD) catheters designed explicitly for neonates creates significant challenges in the provision of neonatal PD. High resource settings can circumvent this limitation by resorting to alternative extracorporeal dialysis methods. However, in low-resource settings, PD remains the preferred dialysis modality, and the use of off-label catheters for PD results in complications such as omental wrapping and occlusion. This study introduces a novel catheter design featuring a multi-diameter side port configuration and a helical geometry.

Our objective was to determine if Seraph 100 hemoperfusion reduces SARS-CoV-2 RNA titers and/or markers of inflammation and/or epi/endothelial damage.

Hemoperfusion with the HA330/HA380 Cartridge in Intensive Care Settings: A State-Of-The-Art Review
Hemoperfusion with the HA330/HA380 cartridge has markedly evolved during the past decade and has thus been widely used in intensive care settings to treat critical or hyperinflammatory illnesses. Numerous clinical studies have demonstrated that HA330/HA380 hemoperfusion might mitigate systemic inflammatory response syndrome and organ dysfunction in ICU patients by removing inflammatory mediators and metabolic toxins from the blood. However, there is currently lacking a systematic evaluation on the safety and efficacy of HA330/HA380 hemoperfusion in intensive care settings.
Reduction Rate of Uric Acid in Blood during Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy for Acute Kidney Injury: A Multicenter Retrospective Observational Study
Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) eliminates these small solutes with equal efficacy under the same conditions. However, variations in the reduction rates of these solutes observed in patients with CRRT are likely influenced by factors other than removal through CRRT. This study evaluated the reduction rates of these small solutes during CRRT and their possible association with mortality.

Fluid overload is a frequent and serious complication in hemodialysis patients. The combination of multiple point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) measurements can identify significant venous congestion, but its usefulness to determine ultrafiltration (UF) requirements and dry weight is unknown. Therefore, we evaluated prospectively patients in maintenance hemodialysis to establish the correlations between changes in venous congestion parameters and fluid removal.
